asia: thai, lao, burma...
...it stared in 1978. At that time backpacking overland
to Europe was just starting. The second ever Lonely Planet edition was in my hand... letters were collected "poste restante", and a 3 minute phone call 'home' cost a night's accommodation.
However
it was not until 1994 when I visited an 'old' school buddy that
I really got drawn into the vortex of all things Thai and Lao
and the start of a whole new chapter .....
